Mandate

The Mandate of the Consulate General is derived from the Malawi Government's Foreign Policy which is to enhance development diplomacy by promoting and protecting Malawi's social and economic interests. The mandate also emanates from the Malawi Vision 2063 (MW2063) and the Malawi Diaspora Engagement Policy.

Vision

To be a proactive and dynamic institution which strengthens Malawi’s global position by advancing economic interests, fostering partnerships and supporting Malawian Citizens in Hunan and surrounding provinces.

Mission

The Mission of the Consulate General is to promote trade, investment and tourism relations with the Government of Hunan and surrounding provinces, and the private sector in order to achieve and protect the economic interests of Malawi and provision of consular services.
